Steak and Guiness Stew
- 750g Braising steak
- Can of guiness
- 1 Onion
- 1 Clove of garlic
- 300g Mushrooms
- 2 Carrots
- 1 Stick of celery
- Handful of parsley
- A few dashes of worcestershire sauce
- Salt & pepper
- 100g Beef suet
- 100g Self-raising flour
- Salt
Get a large pot and a frying pan. Add a can of guiness to the pot and turn on the heat. Add some oil or beef dripping to the pan.
Fry cubed braising steak, then add it to the pot. Chop an onion finely and fry it, then add it to the pot. Crush a clove of garlic and fry it, then add it to the pot. Add chopped mushrooms, chopped carrot, chopped celery and chopped parsley to the pot. Add worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper to the pot.
Put a lid on the pot and simmer for 3 hours.
½ hour from the end, make the dumplings. Add equal quantities beef suet and self-raising flour to a mixing bowl. Season with salt. Add a little water and form into balls. Add them to the pot.
Cook some rice or potatoes to serve with the stew. When the dumplings are done, serve and garnish with parsley leaves.
